It's the First Day.... of the Rest of Your Life.
I cannot believe this time has already raced past. My kids are no longer babies.. but self sufficient, ready to learn and be out in the real world, little people. This emotion is almost too much to handle, I've always been nostalgic about my kids and how time has already past before I could catch my breath. They are every-changing, and each day you know you won't wake up to the same child in the morning. They are learning, growing..in so many ways. These are our babies! But all of the sudden, we are not their whole world anymore. They are now learning from so many other people. Teachers, aids, other children, coaches... They have a whole new life to look forward to at school! Exciting, and heart breaking.. all at the same time.
First Day of School Pictures, of course. <3
*The first day of school was a super success! Sebastian dubbed his school the "Eagle School" and told me about shapes and 'tato's. He was happy to see us but definitely had a blast. Olivia came home excitedly chattering about her new best friend, Olivia C.. her "boyfriend" that she couldn't remember his name..and how awesome it was that she had a water fountain in her classroom! She did get called a "Loser" on the playground, but she told him that hurt her feelings and he said sorry (I think there was some teacher-involved problem solving here ;]) Overall, there are smiles all over and neither can sleep because they're too excited for tomorrow. <3*
